We’re currently seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support our team in Arlington, VA (hybrid). 
Open to local candidates in the Washington, D.C. / Northern VA / Maryland areas. 

 

Location Details

Our clientele is largely in the government space, primarily within the Washington, D.C. / Maryland / Northern Virginia (DMV) areas. Position location and travel may vary based on client needs, therefore local DMV candidates with the availability to go on site on a hybrid basis are highly preferred. 

 

What you'll do

  • As the Technical Writer you will review and edit security documents drafted or updated by team members before client submittal for approval.
  • Review, evaluate and provide recommended edits to Cyber Security documents and presentations
  • Review, evaluate and update templates for use by team members for presentations to client
  • Document team meetings

What you'll bring

• Demonstrated expertise and experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to develop, update, and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
• Knowledge of the organization's information classification program and procedures for information compromise.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non[1]repudiation).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
• Knowledge of the basic operation of computers.
• Knowledge of the operations and processes for incident, problem, and event management.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
• Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.

 

Education 

Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in an IT related field.

 

Clearance / Suitability 

Ability to obtain a clearance or a Public Trust is preferred, however all clearance levels and non-cleared applicants will also be considered.

 

Certifications 
One or more of the following is preferred, but not required: CISSP, CISM 

 

Years of Experience 

7+ years relevant cyber-security experience in business, publishing, or engineering technical writing or editing and an advanced degree in a technical/cyber-related field.

Direct experience or directly relevant certifications may substitute for the academic credentials.

 

Bonus Points

  • CISSP or CISM certification
  • Policy or technical writing work experience in a federal or cyber related environment.
