We’re currently seeking a Vice President of Strategic Business Development (Go-To-Market, CMMC Services). 

 

Position Summary 

The Vice President of Strategic Business Development is responsible for leading the design and execution of a unified go-to-market (GTM) strategy that drives significant revenue growth, accelerates pipeline expansion, and establishes Coalfire Federal as the market leader in CMMC compliance and cybersecurity solutions for the defense industrial base and other federally regulated industries.

 

This role integrates sales, marketing, customer success, and operations into a cohesive business development engine that delivers measurable results and scalable growth. The Vice President partners closely with senior leadership across Coalfire Federal to align on corporate priorities, enable operational excellence, and expand the company’s presence in priority markets, including the Department of Defense and its supply-chain ecosystem.

 

Location & Travel

This is a full time remote position (must be located in the United States).

Occasional travel required, up to approximately 25%, for client meetings, partner engagements, and industry events.

What you'll do

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead Coalfire Federal’s comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy for CMMC, driving revenue growth, pipeline expansion, and market leadership.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable business development plans that align sales, marketing, and delivery activities under a unified execution model.
  • Build and scale a high-performing partner and channel ecosystem to expand reach, increase indirect revenue, and strengthen Coalfire Federal’s competitive positioning.
  • Drive consistent double-digit pipeline growth and improved win rates through disciplined forecasting, account planning, and operational rigor.
  • Establish standardized GTM playbooks, performance dashboards, and review processes to improve predictability, accountability, and execution velocity.
  • Partner with product and delivery leaders across Coalfire Federal to ensure market feedback informs service design, positioning, and client experience.
  • Lead strategic customer engagement initiatives to elevate Coalfire Federal’s visibility and thought leadership across the defense industrial base.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with partners, system integrators, and prime contractors supporting CMMC programs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead cross-functional business development talent, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Represent Coalfire Federal externally as a trusted industry leader, promoting the company’s expertise and commitment to advancing cybersecurity compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • Proven success driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and scaling operational capabilities within small to mid-sized business units or fast-growth organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing GTM strategies for federal programs or regulated markets, with expertise in CMMC and related cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, DFARS).
  • Strong record of managing and mentoring high-performing teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration among sales, marketing, delivery, and operations.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and developing trusted relationships with senior leaders, system integrators, and federal clients.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into measurable actions, leveraging data-driven insights to improve forecasting, pipeline performance, and customer acquisition.
  • Exceptional consultative and interpersonal skills, with a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and results.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% as needed for customer and partner engagements.

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field (four-year college or university) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

 

Clearance / Suitability 

Ability to obtain a clearance or a Public Trust is preferred, however all clearance levels and non-cleared applicants will also be considered.

 

Certifications 
Industry recognized certifications in cybersecurity and/or business subjects is preferred but not required.

 

Years of Experience 

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in business development, sales, or go-to-market (GTM) strategy within cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance-focused organizations.
